04/ Conjugation of verbs in french.

Before conjugating all verbs tenses and different forms, we must first see the different types of verbs that exist in French.

01 Types of verbs.
In French, verbs are divided into three (03) groups : the First group (1st), the Second group (2nd) and the Third group (3rd). Each of these groups have different infinitive. I mean, in English, the infinitive is formed by placing "to" before the verb but, in French the "infinitive" is placed at the end of the verbs. Let's now see the different groups.

Groups and their infinitives.
All verbs of the First group (1st) end in "er", the second group (2nd) end in "ir" and the Third group (3rd) end in "re". Also, some verbs ending in "er", and "ir " are placed in the Third group (3rd) because their conjugation is irregular. We will understand this later. Let's now consider the following table.

Group Infinitive Examples Meaning
1st er chanter, changer, parler to sing, to eat, to speak
2nd ir finir, agir, fournir to finish, to act, to provide
3rd re, ir, re attendre, venir, aller to wait, to come, to go

Let's now conjugate group by group.
